ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (OD)

OD is about the systems (management systems and operational systems) in an organization and how they work together to provide the products and services of the company. The effectiveness of these systems will determine the progress of the organization.  Management systems include planning, organizational design/structure, management development, succession planning, and organizational performance systems. Operational systems include Operations, HR, IT, Sales, Marketing, and Accounting, and how these areas operate daily. Most organizations fall along the strategic and execution gamut but most don't do both successfully, and organizational development is about making changes so both are done successfully -- building that bridge from strategy to execution.
