Organizational Development

Overview

Organizational Development is about the systems in an organization and how they work together to provide the products and services of the company.  Organizations are made up of systems -- management systems and operational systems, and the effectiveness of those systems will determine the progress of the organization.  Management systems include planning, organizational design/structure, management development, including succession planning and organizational performance systems.  Operational systems include HR, IT, sales, marketing and branding, operations, and accounting and finance -- how these areas operate on a daily basis.  Most organizations fall along the strategic and execution gamut, but most don't do both successfully, and organizational development is about making changes so both are done successfully -- building that bridge from strategy to execution.
